Capcom launches Steam demo for Pragmata, the long-awaited sci-fi action-adventure featuring Hugh and android Diana escaping from a near-future moon.
Pragmata - Official Gameplay Trailer
Capcom has finally unveiled the playable demo for Pragmata, the mysterious sci-fi action-adventure that has been in development since its 2020 reveal. The demo is now available on Steam, with console versions to follow.
A Long-Awaited Journey from Moon to Earth
Pragmata puts players in control of Hugh Williams, a system monitor who finds himself stranded on a lunar facility after disaster strikes. Together with Diana, an enigmatic android girl, Hugh must find a way to escape the moon and return to Earth.

The game blends shooting action with puzzle-solving in what Capcom describes as a "new sensation SF action-adventure." According to the developers, the unique fusion of shooting while solving puzzles simultaneously creates an experience unlike anything else in the genre.

Diana's Design Impresses Even the Director
The development team revealed that Diana's character design has received exceptionally high praise internally. Even the game's director, who typically isn't particularly interested in character designs, was reportedly impressed by how she turned out.

Demo Details
The Steam demo launched on December 12, 2025, giving players their first hands-on experience with Pragmata. Capcom notes that the demo content has been specially adjusted for accessibility, with altered enemy placement and progression compared to the final game to reduce difficulty for newcomers.

Console demos for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will also be released. The Nintendo Switch 2 version has been confirmed to achieve quality comparable to Resident Evil Requiem, according to Capcom's official investor relations announcement.

Switch 2 Amiibo Support
The Switch 2 version will feature amiibo support, offering players bonus items and unique hacking nodes not available in other versions.

Why the Delays?
Pragmata has faced multiple delays since its initial announcement. The development team explained that the extended timeline was necessary to perfect the game's unique puzzle-shooting fusion system, prioritizing playability and frame rate optimization over pure graphical fidelity.
