Log.in: Japanese Indie Horror Game Casts You as the Suspect

Japanese indie developer Little氷華 (Little Hyoka) has released Log.in, a mystery horror adventure that flips the typical detective narrative by casting players as a kidnapping suspect investigating their own computer to piece together what happened.

A Desktop of Secrets

Log.in presents its entire experience through an authentic PC desktop interface. Players navigate folders, examine files, and watch disturbing videos stored on the computer to uncover the truth behind a confinement case. The game challenges players to discover who the victim is, understand why she was imprisoned, and confront their own motives as the perpetrator.

The investigative gameplay focuses on clicking through digital evidence, piecing together fragments of information scattered across the system. Each file and folder potentially holds crucial details that shape your understanding of events.

Six Endings Await

Player choices throughout the investigation significantly impact the narrative's conclusion. Log.in features five standard endings plus one secret ending, encouraging multiple playthroughs to experience every possible outcome and uncover the complete story.

The branching narrative means early decisions about which files to examine and how to interpret evidence can lead to dramatically different revelations about the case.

Content Warning

Log.in includes mature themes with scenes implying violence, including depictions of strangulation and beating. The horror elements stem from the psychological tension of uncovering disturbing records rather than jump scares.
