Elden Ring Nightreign DLC The Forsaken Hollows Launches December 4

FromSoftware has unveiled The Forsaken Hollows, the first major DLC expansion for Elden Ring Nightreign, arriving December 4, 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The expansion introduces substantial new content to the cooperative roguelike experience, including two fresh playable Nightfarers, two challenging bosses, and an entirely new Shifting Earth location called The Great Hollow.

Two New Nightfarers Join the Hunt

The Forsaken Hollows brings the Nightfarer roster to ten with two distinctive additions. The Scholar brings academic prowess to the battlefield, wielding high arcane abilities and gaining tactical advantages through careful observation of enemy patterns. This intelligence-focused character rewards players who study their opponents before striking.

The Undertaker takes an entirely different approach—an abbess combining impressive strength with unwavering faith. She sends enemies to the afterlife with ruthless efficiency, making her ideal for players who prefer direct confrontation over careful strategy.

The Great Hollow Awaits

Beneath the familiar terrain of Limveld lies something ancient and dangerous. The Great Hollow is a deep subterranean area featuring cursed crystals that pulse with malevolent energy and crumbling ruins left behind by "the old folk"—a mysterious civilization that predates the current age.

This new Shifting Earth location promises environmental hazards unlike anything in the base game, with the cursed terrain creating unique tactical challenges for coordinated teams.

New Threats Rise

While the base game tasks players with hunting Nightlords across three-day cycles, The Forsaken Hollows introduces an entirely different category of enemy. The DLC features formidable creatures known as Abominations—threats that challenge players in ways the Nightlords never could.

These unknown entities differ fundamentally from the established Nightlord encounters, suggesting FromSoftware is expanding the game's boss design philosophy with fresh mechanics and attack patterns.

What is Elden Ring Nightreign?

For those unfamiliar, Elden Ring Nightreign is a standalone cooperative roguelike set in the Elden Ring universe. Three Nightfarers embark on expeditions across the ever-changing realm of Limveld, gathering weapons, runes, and abilities while surviving environmental hazards like the deadly Night's Tide—a shrinking safe zone that drains health for those caught outside.

Each expedition spans three in-game days, with teams preparing and fighting through escalating challenges before confronting a Nightlord on the final day. The base game launched May 30, 2025 with eight unique Nightfarers, each featuring distinct abilities including passive talents, active skills, and devastating ultimate arts.
