Dead by Daylight Stranger Things Chapter 2 Adds Vecna, Eleven, and Dustin

The Upside Down is bleeding back into The Fog. Behaviour Interactive has announced Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2, bringing the Netflix series' most terrifying villain to the asymmetrical horror game alongside two beloved survivors.

Vecna Enters The Fog

Chapter 38 introduces Vecna, known in-game as The First, as the newest killer in Dead by Daylight's roster. This iteration is distinct from the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired Lich that arrived in Chapter 32, instead drawing directly from the Stranger Things version of the supernatural antagonist originally known as Henry Creel.

The First can bend the world around him, manifesting the physical presence of the Upside Down within The Fog. Sinister vines lash out at unsuspecting survivors as Vecna disappears beneath the ground, reemerging to curse anyone in his path. Grandfather clocks scattered across the map provide survivors their only defense, activating when Worldbreaker status is triggered.

New Survivors Join the Fight

Jane "Eleven" Hopper and Dustin Henderson enter the Trials as new survivors, both rendered with the likenesses of actors Millie Bobby Brown and Gaten Matarazzo. Each brings unique perks reflecting their roles in the series, with Eleven emphasizing stealth and killer location revelation while Dustin focuses on accelerating generator repairs and teammate support.

Returning survivors Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington round out the Hawkins crew, giving fans four characters from the Netflix phenomenon to choose from.

Legendary Outfits Expand the Roster

Three Legendary Outfits join the chapter. Eddie Munson arrives as a Legendary skin for Dustin, while Robin Buckley is available for Nancy. Jonathan Byers, who appeared in the original 2019 collaboration, returns as a Legendary skin for Steve.

Release Information

The Public Test Build is live now on Steam through January 13, 2026, allowing players to try all new content before the official launch. Chapter 38 releases on January 27, 2026, priced at $11.99 USD or 1,500 Auric Cells.

This marks the second time a license has received two full chapters in Dead by Daylight, following Resident Evil. The original Stranger Things chapter launched in 2019 but was removed in November 2021 due to licensing issues. It returned in November 2023, and Chapter 2 arrives just as Stranger Things concludes its television run with the fifth and final season.
