Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows is Almost Here!
FromSoftware's roguelike spinoff gets its first DLC with two new Nightfarers, the Scholar and Undertaker, plus a new underground Shifting Earth and terrifying Abominations.
FromSoftware's roguelike spinoff expands with its first paid DLC as The Forsaken Hollows descends into the depths on December 4, 2025. Bandai Namco has unveiled the expansion's full contents, bringing two new playable Nightfarers, terrifying new threats, and an entirely new underground realm to explore.
The Forsaken Hollows introduces The Great Hollow, a massive subterranean Shifting Earth located beneath Limveld. Unlike optional areas, this cursed underground expanse serves as a core location where players must survive through days one and two before confronting day three's bosses. Ancient ruins from a forgotten civilization dot the landscape, their cursed crystals creating an atmosphere distinct from anything in the base game.

The Undertaker: Faith and Fury Combined
The first new Nightfarer is the Undertaker, an abbess whose sacred duty involves slaying Nightlords. Her impressive strength and faith stats make her a devastating force on the battlefield, capable of dispatching enemies with decisive, punishing strikes. During the game's presentation, producer Kitao demonstrated one of her unique abilities—the power to piggyback on allies' arts without consuming her own gauge, opening up powerful team combinations.

The Scholar: Knowledge as Power
The second addition is the Scholar, an academic traversing the Lands Between who wields exceptional arcane abilities. This character gains significant advantages through careful battlefield observation, rewarding players who take time to analyze their surroundings. The Scholar's "Analyze" communion ability and unique tactical options make them invaluable for cooperative play, offering a more cerebral approach to combat.

Abominations: A New Threat Emerges
Beyond the Nightlords that players have grown accustomed to fighting, The Forsaken Hollows introduces an entirely new category of enemy—Abominations. These previously unknown threats have surfaced in Limveld, presenting formidable adversaries that require fresh strategies to overcome. The expansion also brings additional mid-tier enemies drawn from FromSoftware's catalog, including creatures from the Elden Ring base game and Dark Souls series.

The DLC arrives alongside a free update on December 3 that includes balance adjustments, increased melee attack variety, and new character memories and costumes. Players can access The Forsaken Hollows content after defeating Gradius plus one additional major enemy to unlock the new underground realm.
