Nintendo Reveals Joy-Con 2 in Light Purple and Light Green for Switch 2

Nintendo has unveiled the first new color variant for Joy-Con 2 controllers since the Switch 2 launch. The Light Purple (L) and Light Green (R) set brings a fresh pastel aesthetic to the console's accessories lineup.

Release Details

The new Joy-Con 2 set arrives on February 12, 2026, priced at $99.99 in the US, £74.99 in the UK, and ¥9,980 in Japan. Pre-orders are already live on Nintendo's official store.

The controllers mark the first time Nintendo has deviated from the default light blue and orange Joy-Con 2s that launched with the Switch 2 console.

Design and Colors

The controllers feature pastel coloring on the inner rails rather than the full shell, a departure from the original Joy-Con color variants. This means the purple and green accents are most visible around the thumbsticks and when the controllers are detached from the console.

The new colors complement the Switch 2's sleek design while offering a softer aesthetic compared to the launch colors.

Key Features

Like all Joy-Con 2 controllers, this set includes the full range of Switch 2 features. Built-in magnets allow the controllers to snap securely onto the console when brought close. The side sensor enables mouse-like controls in compatible games by sliding the controller downward.

The C button provides quick access to GameChat functionality, letting players communicate with friends during online play. HD Rumble and motion controls round out the feature set.

What's in the Box

Each set includes the left Joy-Con 2 in Light Purple, the right Joy-Con 2 in Light Green, and a pair of matching wrist straps.

The packaging follows Nintendo's standard Switch 2 accessory design with the red and white color scheme.
