Kirby Air Riders Launches November 20 with Global Test Ride Demo

Nintendo announced that Kirby Air Riders will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20, 2025. The fast-paced vehicle action game features Kirby and crew in competitive racing and battle modes across ground and aerial courses.

Global Test Ride Demo Event

A free Global Test Ride demo event runs from November 7-16, 2025, allowing players to experience selected game modes before the official launch. With the Switch 2's strong install base of 10.36 million units, the demo should attract significant player participation. The demo includes a tutorial driving school, online City Trial mode, and offline Air Ride gameplay. Participation requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership for online features.

An earlier online experience event is scheduled for November 8-10 and 15-17, featuring the same content with time-limited availability.

Game Modes and Features

Kirby Air Riders offers four distinct game modes supporting solo, local multiplayer, and online play. City Trial transforms the city of Skyah into an arena battleground, while Air Ride delivers traditional racing with both ground and aerial sections. Top Ride presents bite-sized competitive gameplay from a top-down perspective, and Road Trip provides a single-player story campaign.

The game introduced the "Ore Machine" customization system, allowing players to personalize vehicles with adjustable patterns, decals, accessories, and visual effects. The Ore Machine Market enables players to purchase custom machines designed by other users online, with dynamic pricing that increases as machines sell more frequently. Notably, machines remain available even after being sold, protecting creator investments.

Playable Content

The roster includes Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and additional characters. Available vehicles include the Warp Star, Wheelie Bike, Chariot, and newly announced machines like Henshin Star, which transforms between star and motorcycle forms. Returning machines from previous titles include Dragoon and Hydra, and all courses from the original game will be featured.

amiibo Support

Nintendo announced special two-part amiibo figures featuring Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Cook Kawasaki. Players can mix and match rider and machine combinations to train riders and increase proficiency levels.
