Zenless Zone Zero's First Dual-Form Agent Ye Shunguang Takes Center Stage in Famitsu

Weekly Famitsu has unveiled a massive 28-page special feature dedicated to Zenless Zone Zero's most innovative character yet. Ye Shunguang, the game's first-ever dual-form agent, graces the cover of the January 22, 2026 issue, marking a significant milestone for HoYoverse's action title.

The Void Hunter Arrives

Ye Shunguang made her debut in Version 2.5 "To Be Fuel for the Night" on December 30, 2025, introducing an entirely new combat paradigm to Zenless Zone Zero. As the younger sister of Ye Shiyuan and current wielder of the legendary Qingming Sword, she represents a fusion of traditional swordsmanship and supernatural power that sets her apart from every other agent in the game.

The S-Rank Attack agent hails from Yunkui Summit and operates as a Void Hunter, placing her in the same elite category as fan-favorite Hoshimi Miyabi. Her Honed Edge attribute marks her as a Physical damage dealer, but the similarities to other characters end there.

Dual-Form Combat System

What makes Ye Shunguang revolutionary is her stance-switching mechanic. In her default brown-haired form, she executes fast, grounded sword techniques that build Qingming Sword Force. Once she accumulates six charges, holding the Basic Attack button triggers her transformation into the Enlightened Mind state.

This metamorphosis is striking. Her hair turns white, her eyes glow red, and her combat capabilities undergo a dramatic enhancement. The Qingming Form unlocks an aggressive aerial playstyle with downward strikes and devastating finishers that deal over 2,000% damage multipliers. Players can also trigger the transformation instantly by using her Ultimate.

Famitsu Special Feature

The Famitsu feature includes extensive coverage of Ye Shunguang's development. Voice actress M.A.O, who brings the character to life in Japanese, discusses her approach to portraying the dual-natured swordswoman in an exclusive interview. The magazine also presents never-before-seen character design sketches that reveal the creative process behind her distinctive look.

Season 2 story recaps provide context for players catching up on the narrative, while the limited edition bundle available through ebten includes a B3 fabric poster, acrylic stand, and Version 2.5 acrylic panel.

Banner and Team Building

Ye Shunguang's "Light Upon Fingertips" banner runs until February 5, 2026, alongside Zhao's debut banner. Unlike previous version updates, both new characters remain available simultaneously throughout the entire patch rather than being split into phases.
