TIME TAKERS - NCSOFT's New Team-Based Survival Shooter

NCSOFT announced TIME TAKERS (타임 테이커즈), a new free-to-play team-based survival shooter developed by Mistil Games. The game was revealed at Gamescom 2025 and is scheduled to launch globally in 2026 on PC and consoles, with a Steam playtest currently recruiting participants.

Developer Background

Mistil Games, founded by former Pearl Abyss developers, brings significant industry experience to the project. Yongsoo Seo served as art director while Yongmin Cho worked as lead producer for Black Desert Mobile. NCSOFT secured global publishing rights for TIME TAKERS from the Korean developer.

Gameplay Mechanics

TIME TAKERS centers on time as a core resource in third-person shooter gameplay. Players form teams of three, each selecting a "Time Traveler" from a diverse cast of characters drawn from different historical eras. Teams battle for survival in matches where only one team emerges victorious.

During matches, players collect Time Energy to upgrade skills and equip apps that enhance combat performance. Unlike traditional hero shooters, TIME TAKERS allows players to break free from fixed roles. Each character brings a unique ability, but weapon choices and app loadouts completely transform playstyles, even when using the same character.

Technical Development

The game is built on Unreal Engine 5, leveraging the engine's capabilities for high-quality graphics, motion capture, facial morphing, and fast-paced gameplay. The development team focused on delivering cutting-edge visual fidelity while maintaining smooth performance.

Release and Availability

TIME TAKERS will launch as a free-to-play title in 2026 on PC and consoles. The game will include Korean voice-over and is currently listed on the Steam store. NCSOFT opened playtest recruitment for players interested in experiencing the game before its official launch.
