NCSOFT, the studio behind Aion 2, revealed the official title for its long-awaited Project LLL at Gamescom 2025, introducing Cinder City as an open-world MMO tactical shooter set in a post-apocalyptic version of Seoul. Developed by NCSOFT, the studio behind Aion 2,'s BigFire Games studio, the game is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2026 for PC and consoles.

Setting and Story

Cinder City takes place in an alternate history where 23rd century future technology intersects with the 21st century in post-apocalyptic Seoul. The game features recognizable real-world locations including Samseong-dong and Nonhyeon-dong, reimagined as high-tech battlegrounds in a devastated metropolis.

Players assume the role of a character searching for their missing daughter, facing brutal choices throughout the narrative. The story-driven experience can be tackled solo or cooperatively with a squad, offering flexibility in how players approach the campaign.
