Tales of Xillia Remastered Launches on Multiple Platforms

Bandai Namco Entertainment released Tales of Xillia Remastered on October 31, 2025, bringing the beloved 2011 action RPG to modern platforms. Developed by DOKIDOKI GROOVEWORKS, the remaster launched simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, marking the first time the title received enhanced treatment for contemporary hardware.

The remaster preserved the original's dual-protagonist structure, allowing players to experience the story through either Jude Mathis, a dedicated medical student, or Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman accompanied by spirit companions. Each protagonist offered a distinct narrative perspective through the shared world of Rieze Maxia, encouraging multiple playthroughs to experience the complete story.

The narrative centered on environmental catastrophe as the kingdom of Rashugal deployed a mysterious device draining the world's mana—the essence of life itself. Players assembled a party to destroy this weapon and restore balance to Rieze Maxia before irreversible damage occurred.

Combat utilized the Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System, enabling real-time team-based battles with combo attacks and support skills. The remaster enhanced this foundation with quality-of-life improvements including enhanced graphics, auto-save functionality, enemy encounter toggles, and early shop access—modern conveniences that streamlined the classic experience.

All previously-released DLC content came bundled with the remaster, including costumes and consumable items. The Deluxe Edition expanded offerings with a digital artbook containing design materials and illustrations, plus a digital soundtrack featuring tracks from the original game. The Battle BGM Pack allowed players to customize combat music with themes from previous Tales of entries.

Pre-order customers received the Super Adventuring Assistance Set, containing consumable items to ease early progression. Voice actors Tsuguya Dairyo and Miyuki Sawashiro reprised their roles, bringing continuity to the remastered presentation.

The release achieved PEGI 12+ rating, maintaining accessibility for the series' traditional audience while preserving the narrative's mature themes.
