The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Launches January 28 with Open-World RPG Adventure
Netmarble announces The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin for PS5, PC, and mobile with closed beta starting October 30 and global launch set for January 28, 2026.
Netmarble announced The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin launched worldwide on January 28, 2026, bringing an open-world action RPG experience to PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and mobile devices. The game marked a new chapter in the franchise following the success of the previous mobile title that achieved 7.777 billion downloads globally.
The multiplayer open-world RPG featured Tristan, son of series protagonists Meliodas and Elizabeth, as the main character. Players explored an expansive world of Britannia while following an original multiverse story that connected with both the main series and the "Apocalypse of the Four Horsemen" spin-off. The game allowed players to collect characters from across the franchise and customize combat styles independently.

Netmarble scheduled a closed beta test from October 30 through November 5, 2025, on PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. The test provided access to the open world, battles against the Red Demon and Gray Demon, adventures within Felsen Mine, and various other content. The beta supported English, Japanese, and Korean languages, with 12 total languages planned for the full release.
The story centered on Tristan's journey after being chosen by the "Book of Stars" to restore peace to Britannia. He was joined by Tioreh, a fairy seeking adventure and daughter of King and Diane, along with Clotho, a mysterious guide with hidden origins. Together, they worked to resolve chaos caused by an ancient relic threatening the kingdom.

The game showcased its development at major gaming events throughout 2025, including Summer Game Fest on June 6, the Future Games Show: Summer Showcase on June 7, gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live, and Tokyo Game Show 2025. Pre-registration opened across all platforms, with mobile users receiving the character Tiolere, gacha tickets, leveling materials, and recovery items as launch rewards.
Netmarble positioned the title as the successor to their previous Seven Deadly Sins mobile game, expanding the franchise's reach to console and PC platforms while maintaining mobile support. The simultaneous worldwide release across all platforms ensured global players could experience the game together from launch day.
