Nintendo has released a major free update for Pikmin 4 on November 11, 2025, bringing new ways to experience the beloved adventure.

The update introduces three distinct difficulty settings to accommodate all player types:

  • Odayaka (Easy): Creatures won't attack, perfect for relaxed exploration
  • Futsuu (Normal): The standard Pikmin 4 experience
  • Kyoubou (Hard): Enhanced creature stats and a 60-Pikmin squad limit for veteran players

Players can now use the "Satsueimo" exploration camera to capture in-game moments with customizable stamps and frames, adding a creative photography element to the adventure.

The update introduces special Deco Pikmin wearing unique accessories scattered throughout the game world. These collectibles can also be transferred to the Pikmin Bloom mobile app, bridging the gap between the console and mobile experiences.

Alongside the update, Nintendo released a new demo version, making it easier for newcomers to try Pikmin 4 before purchasing.

The free update is available now for all Pikmin 4 owners on Nintendo Switch.
